Happy holidays from rainy California

Maybe we’re biased, but we think Thanksgiving is the best holiday of the year. No gifts, no decorations, just friends, family, food and reflections of what we’re thankful for in good times and in bad. Here at the farm we are incredibly thankful for the abundance of rain that has already turned the surrounding foothills emerald green. It was a wild year full of fire, smoke and anxieties big and small, but the cool weather and early evenings have brought us a great deal of peace and relief!

Those of you who ordered fall club cases should be receiving them by now if you haven’t already. We thank you all for your support and patience as we got all of your orders shipped out these last few weeks.

The shining star of this season’s box is the Shake Ridge Ranch barbera, but we’d love to hear what you think of all our new varietals. Keep in mind that the carignan in your box is still quite young and will need a little more time to develop its optimal flavors. If you’d like to enjoy it now, simply decant and give it some time to open up before you fill your glass. Otherwise, a few months’ rest in bottle will see it gain some really lovely complexity worth waiting for!

We hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving wherever you may be, and know that we are thankful for all of your support these last many years!
